British artist, Barbara has a fascination for portraiture, and was inspired to capture the innocence of the very young following her career in nursing sick and premature babies.She is entirely self taught and found early success in miniature painting, winning many awards including the Mundy Sovereign for the best portrait in show in 1989, and also the prestigious Gold Bowl in 1997 for the Best Miniature in show at the Royal Society of Miniature Painters and Gravers [RMS] Annual London Exhibitions.
Following her recent retiement as President of The Society of Women Artists, Barbara now concentrates on Portraits in Oil on larger canvas.
